The Crash Reel
The Ski Patrol and Department of Neuroscience are co-hosting a screening of The Crash Reel and fundraiser for LoveYourBrain foundation at Middlebury College in Dana Auditorium January 29 at 7:00 pm.
The Crash Reel
The Crash Reel is the dramatic story of one unforgettable athlete, Kevin Pearce; one eye-popping sport, snowboarding; and one explosive issue, Traumatic Brain Injury.
LoveYourBrain
LoveYourBrain (LYB) Foundation was established by brothers, Kevin Pearce and Adam Pearce, in 2014. This marked the fourth year since Kevin Pearce suffered a near fatal traumatic brain injury while training for the 2010 winter Olympics. Kevin’s remarkable road to recovery has inspired millions through the HBO documentary “The Crash Reel,” Kevin’s speaking engagements, and now, through the programs pioneered by the LoveYourBrain Foundation. LoveYourBrain is a non-profit organization that aims to improve the quality of life for people affected by traumatic brain injury.
LYB is launching a nationwide gentle yoga and meditation program for traumatic brain injury survivors. They are hosting yoga teacher training workshops to equip teachers with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to tailor their yoga and meditation classes for this population. LYB believes that yoga has the potential to transform the wellbeing of those living with traumatic brain injury by improving their ability to strengthen and reconnect their mind and body.
